Building Maintenance Service Technician

This program will prepare students to perform the duties and responsibilities required by entry level positions in the building maintenance field, such as:

Plumbing assembler-installer
Maintenance carpenter
Carpenter (construction) helper
Electrician helper
Plumber helper
Manufactured building repairer

Students will demonstrate proficiency in OSHA-based safety standards, blueprint reading, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing applications and repairs; they will also demonstrate proficiency in light interior, exterior and finish applications. Additionally, students will demonstrate proficiency in customer service, the use of the internet, and job search skills.

At specific locations, students will be prepared to earn additional certifications from BPI Building Analyst Professional, BPI Envelope and Shell Professional, EPA/HUD Lead Abatement, Green Awareness and NABCEP.
