Our Relationship With Industry
CET job training simulates the work environment in many aspects. While at CET, students follow industry established standards to prepare for the expectations fo the workplace. CET centers are supported by an Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) and Technical Advisory Committees (TAC). Through employer partnerships on the IAB and TACs, CET is kept abreast of current technology and employers have a well trained workforce.
Industrial Advisory Board (IAB)
The Industrial Advisory Board is composed of professionals and recruiters whose role is to keep CET apprised of the demand for workers in specific training programs that we offer and serves in an advisory role to CET training Center Directors and its long-term value to our program is measured in numerous ways. The IAB not only assists with direct contributions of time, resources and equipment, but also indirectly through its influence within the private sector and with public officials on behalf of CET's fundraising and program development efforts. The partnership between CET and industry, as reflected by the IAB, is one of mutual assistance. CET needs jobs for its trainees and industry needs skilled employees. Through this partnership CET helps to minimize advertising, interviewing and training costs to industry and increases employment opportunities for local residents. The IAB provides strong support to CET in accomplishing its goals of training and placing qualified personnel in jobs.
Technical Advisory Committees (TAC)
Employers can also have direct involvement at CET, through Technical Advisory Committees (TACs). TACs are comprised of professionals in a specific skill, and help CET compose the elements of training curricula and the annual validation process.
With TAC and IAB input on equipment, tools, and training methods, CET training programs are kept abreast of technological advancements and current requirements of each industry for entry-level positions.
