CET's Mission

The mission of CET is based on the philosophy of self-determination and seeks to promote the human development and education of low-income people by providing them with marketable vocational educational training and supportive services that contribute to economic self-sufficiency.

Since CET's inception in 1967, our non-profit 501(c)(3), has received funding from two primary sources: over 50% from state and federal government and the remainder from the private sector. To secure continued growth, dependency on government funds is a risky proposition as political party control changes every few years. To maintain our consistent year-round training service quality, private sector funding continues to be of utmost importance.

Corporate contributions are critical to the ongoing success of the Center for Employment Training's job training and employment training programs, focused on those people who need help the most. A nonprofit organization founded in 1967, CET has grown to a national network of 33 accredited centers operating in 12 states, having successfully trained and placed more than 100,000 people into jobs, over the last 35 years.
